So many busy parents of college bound teens, think their kid is out of the running for scholarships because they “don’t test well.” While it is true that many scholarships are “merit based,” meaning they require a certain GPA (grade point average) and a certain test score on the ACT or SAT, lots of scholarships are not merit based or the GPA/Test score requirements are just average.
This week on the Get The Acceptance Letter podcast, available on itunes, Google play, Pocket podcasts, and Overcast, I help Parent Academy member Rashaan and her daughter Sydney, release the anxiety over scores and start to look at how Sydney’s resume and her passions will make her attractive to colleges and scholarship committees.
In this episode, you will find out:
-
How to position your college bound teen’s resume to compensate for lackluster scores
-
How thinking about the child as a “total package” will reveal scholarship opportunities
-
When to schedule tests and where to find reliable test prep programs
-
And MORE!
